I've rarely laughed as much while working on a project as I did on this one. No matter the adversities, difficult timelines, or the logistical gymnastics that come with every project, the team at the hotel always found a reason to smile, crack a joke, and keep moving forward. There were days I laughed until my stomach hurt. Working alongside a team like that, is a rare find.

Every project comes with its own set of challenges, but this one also came with a nostalgic responsibility: honoring the memory of its founder.

That tribute was reflected in the people behind the work. More than 90% of the craftsmanship came from local artisans, and almost every front of the project from design to the providers, was led by Costa Rican women—from the decorative artisan work to lighting, custom furniture, and upholstery.

With what sometimes felt like an impossible timeline and a very real budget, we enjoyed the ride, because we were driven by the same purpose and while genuinely enjoying working together.

These refreshed rooms are the visible result. The real story happened behind the scenes—with lots of laughter, every problem solved together, and every person who poured their talentm skills and effort into making this project happen.

And all the times we were in doubt if we would make it, the conversation ended with the obvious punch-line: "¡Sí, cómo no!”
