Small spaces are all about maximizing efficiency and making them look warm and cozy. This small house in San José provided us the perfect opportunity to question what was really functional for this family of 2. The before and after’s transformations are just amazing. We not only gave this family a brighter space, but with a semi-permeable, custom-made shelf that organizes the space, we generated 2 cozy nooks. The entry is now well defined, elegant without taking too much space. The original dinning room, which was never used, was substituted by an L-shaped storage bench. The new favorite place to entertain and have a good morning cup of coffee.

DEFINING MULTI-CULTURAL BEACHFRONT STYLE
This beachfront gem is a true example of cultural diversity. We included Native-Canadian, Irish and Costa Rican identities, weaving them in the design by using local, traditional-furniture construction techniques and Kree-patterns for textile designs, amongst other. The results are everything we hoped for: peace and love!

Casa La Reina is located in between the sea and the mountain. This modern architecture house which sat completely empty was filled with unique Costa Rican furniture made by local artists and products handcrafted and built by women-owned small business. From the conceptual interior design to all the procurement of napkins, from an identity logo which later helped Casa La Reina ended up becoming the queen of the town, indeed.

SEAWEED WELLNESS MARKET
From the depths of the sea to the white sandy shores, comes these unique wellness market, a very meaningful project as it is our first design using AI (Artificial Intelligence) as a tool for the creative process. With the help of DALLE-E we explored less obvious material combinations and layers. We have always believed in technology to be an ally, and we are delighted on how these new tools makes our creativity a plethora of possibilities to explore.

Nicoa: “my own private mykonos club”
Nicoa is a roof top terrace remodeling project encompassing a huge transformation of the space. Going from a worn down, enclosed, all-wooden deck, to a fresh and young look, merging Contemporary and Mediterranean style designs. Passive, sustainable strategies such as elevating the roofs were implemented to create cross-ventilation, cooling down the space. Whites were used to make the terrace feel bigger. An old corner shower was demolished and instead an built-in bbq area and new seating were created, maximing the use of the footprint.

“Not everything that counts can be counted, not everything that can be counted counts", says sociologist William Bruce Cameron. Designing in order to feel those deeply meaningful experiences which can not be counted, such as a good night sleep, a peaceful private breakfast surrounded by nature, or a lovely evening by the fire is what we have done in this secluded and cozy boutique hotel.
